Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@careercat.online of any unauthorized use.

CareerCat is a career-intelligence workspace that provides AI-assisted coaching, document drafting, action planning, and related tools. Guest exploration of the dashboard is a look-only demonstration; saving work, generating documents, using the advisor chat or voice line, and submitting materials require a signed-in account, and paid features require an active subscription or purchase. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

You agree not to:

• Access or attempt to access another user's account, dossier, or documents without authorization;
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or use automated means to extract data from the Service beyond ordinary use;
• Probe, penetration-test, or attempt to circumvent the Service's security, rate limits, or bot protection without prior written authorization from us;
• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, or that violates a third party's rights;
• Use the Service to build a competing product or to train a third-party AI model on our proprietary content;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its networks; or
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or terminate any account, with or without notice, that we reasonably believe violates this Section.

You retain ownership of the resumes, career stories, documents, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant CareerCat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display User Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you, including sending relevant excerpts to the AI and voice providers described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe or violate any third party's rights.

The Service uses artificial intelligence, including third-party language models, to generate coaching guidance, document drafts, practice feedback, and analysis. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation, and reflects probabilistic generation rather than verified fact. It is provided for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, medical, psychological, immigration, or other professional advice, and does not guarantee any interview, offer, hire, salary, or other employment outcome. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and deciding whether to rely on or act on any AI-generated output before using it, including in a resume, application, or interview.

If you use the phone or voice advisor feature, you consent to your call being processed and transcribed by our voice-AI and telephony providers as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not use this feature to discuss information you do not want recorded or transcribed. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for call recording, using this feature constitutes your consent to the extent permitted by that law.

Paid plans and one-time purchases are billed through our third-party payment processor at the price and interval shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then- current price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time effective at the end of the current billing period; cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already charged except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout. We may change prices prospectively with notice. You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase.

The Service, including its software, design, career frameworks, action briefs, and other proprietary content (excluding your User Content), is owned by CareerCat and its licensors and protected by intellectual property law. Except for the limited right to use the Service as permitted by these Terms, no rights are granted to you by implication or otherwise.

The Service integrates third-party providers (AI model providers, voice/telephony, job-listing data, payments, email delivery, bot protection, and analytics) to function. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or content of those third parties, and your use of features built on them may also be subject to that provider's own terms.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERCAT AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) 100 USD. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CareerCat and its officers, employees, and service providers from any claim, liability, damage, loss, and expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for suspected violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 4, 5, 8–12, and 14 — will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CareerCat is established, without regard to conflict-of- law principles. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at support@careercat.online so we can attempt to resolve the dispute informally. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute not resolved informally will be brought on an individual basis only, and not as part of any class, collective, or representative action, in the courts with jurisdiction over CareerCat, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CareerCat regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on this subject. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
